Your four options
- Manufacturer showrooms (viewing only): great for seeing full slabs of Silestone, Dekton and the like — but they sell through dealers, so you leave without a number.
- Independent slab yards: real inventory you can walk, prices usually "ask at the desk," quality of guidance varies wildly.
- Big-box: convenient, but you're choosing from small samples, the range is narrow, and the per-square-foot bundle pricing hides the material cost.
- Online with published pricing (us): every slab listed with its real MSRP, per-thickness pricing on the product page, delivered to San Jose or straight to your fabricator — with quotes below the listed price.
The San Jose reality check
Most South Bay remodels need the slab and a fabricator. Buy the slab transparently, then have your fabricator template and install — or send us your plans and we'll quote the whole materials package (slab, tile, flooring, even cabinets and fixtures) as one project. Questions that expose a bad slab deal
- "What's the slab size this price is for?" (Standard vs jumbo changes $/sq ft ~18%.)
- "Is this first-quality, current-line material or closeout?" (Closeouts are fine — if priced like closeouts.)
- "What's the per-square-foot number?" (The only comparable number between quotes.)
