Ask three San Jose showrooms what a kitchen's worth of cabinets costs and you'll get three versions of "it depends — come in for a consultation." We publish our prices on every product, so here are real numbers, using the industry-standard 10×10 kitchen (ten wall + base cabinets covering two 10-foot walls) priced straight from our live catalog.
Real 10×10 kitchen cabinet prices (June 2026)
- Framed shaker, painted (value line): $3,889 in Ivory White — the workhorse for Berryessa and Blossom Valley refreshes.
- Framed shaker, wood-grain: $5,121 in Mingo Oak.
- Frameless shaker (European full-access): $4,880 in Ivory White, $6,031 in Mingo Oak — the most-requested style in Willow Glen and Cambrian remodels.
- Slim shaker: $5,105–$6,429 depending on finish.
- Flat-panel slab: $6,455–$7,592 — the contemporary look for Communications Hill townhomes.
Every one of those numbers comes from the same SKUs — what changes the price is construction type, door style, and color. Wood-grain finishes run roughly 20–25% over painted because of the veneer work.
What San Jose showrooms charge for the same thing
Local showroom pricing for comparable all-plywood, soft-close cabinetry typically lands between $8,000 and $15,000 for the same 10×10 footprint — before the design fee. The cabinets are often from similar factories; the difference is showroom overhead. (Custom local cabinetmakers are another tier entirely: $25,000+ and 8–12 week lead times.)
What's actually in our boxes
Cheap online cabinets earned their reputation — particle board, stapled drawers, cam-lock assembly. Ours aren't that: every line we carry is plywood-box construction with soft-close concealed hinges, dovetailed solid-birch drawers, and full-extension undermount glides. You can read the construction specs on each collection page.
How to budget the rest of a San Jose kitchen
Cabinets typically run 30–40% of a kitchen project. With a $4,000–$7,500 cabinet package, San Jose homeowners commonly land between $15,000 and $30,000 all-in (counters, tile, fixtures, installation) — versus the $60,000–$100,000 figures full-service design-build firms quote. Sourcing materials yourself and hiring an installer is the single biggest lever.
