Slab size is the most overlooked number in countertop shopping — and it changes both your price and your seams. Two identical prices can hide a 15–20% difference in actual material.
The sizes
- Silestone standard: up to 120"×55" (≈46 sq ft). Jumbo: up to 128"×62" (≈55 sq ft) — most Silestone colors we stock are priced as jumbos.
- Dekton standard: 126"×56" (49 sq ft). Jumbo: 130"×64" (≈58 sq ft). Some colors come only jumbo, some only standard — our product pages show exactly which.
Why per-slab prices mislead
A $2,000 standard slab and a $2,200 jumbo look $200 apart — but the jumbo carries ~18% more stone, so it's actually cheaper per square foot. Always divide by the real slab area. (On our slab pages we do that math for you.)
Seams are the hidden cost
A 10-foot island can come out of one jumbo slab seamlessly; with standard slabs you may need two slabs and a visible seam — plus you're paying for offcut you don't use. For big islands and waterfall edges, the jumbo premium almost always pays for itself.
The practical rule
Measure your longest run. Under 118": standard is fine. Over that, or a wide island: price the jumbo before you assume it's the expensive option.
